ATLANTA – State Representative Farooq Mughal (D-Dacula) recently hosted the Honorable Rachel Galloway, Consul General of the United Kingdom at the Georgia State Capitol on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
"I want to thank Honorable Rachel Galloway, Consul General of the United Kingdom, for visiting the Georgia State Capitol," expressed Rep. Mughal.
During their meeting, Rep. Mughal and Consul General Galloway engaged on how Georgia and the United Kingdom (U.K.) can enhance their economic ties and further strengthen their partnerships. Rep. Mughal emphasized, "Her insights into international relations and economic partnerships are invaluable. I am hopeful for continued growth in economic relations between the United Kingdom and Georgia in the years ahead."
In recent years, bilateral trade relations between Georgia and the U.K. have shown steady growth with both regions benefiting from their strong economic ties. Rep. Mughal also took the opportunity to present the Consul General with House Resolution 881, in recognition of her excellent diplomatic service and her efforts to strengthen the economic ties between Georgia and the United Kingdom to promote economic growth and prosperity.
